CADC - Reciprocity

Reciprocity Accepted
MHACBO accepts CADC reciprocity from states using NAADAC or IC&RC exams.
Start with MHACBO
Do not contact your current board — MHACBO handles the entire reciprocity process.
Start Application
Click the “Start CADC Reciprocity” button inside Certemy to open your application.
Good Standing
You must hold an active certification in good ethical standing.
$175 Fee
Reciprocity fee is $175, paid inside the Certemy application.
Leaving Oregon?
MHACBO cannot initiate IC&RC reciprocity. Contact the new state’s board directly.

MHACBO offers CADC reciprocity with all states who utilize the NAADAC or IC&RC National Psychometric Exams for their addiction counselors.  MHACBO also accepts other state specific exams, but will need to review these exams on an individual basis.

CPS - Reciprocity

IC&RC Reciprocity
MHACBO uses the IC&RC National Reciprocity Process for Certified Prevention Specialists.
Moving to Oregon
If your current state offers the IC&RC PS exam, ask your board to initiate the reciprocity process.
Leaving Oregon
If your new state offers the IC&RC PS exam, email van@mhacbo.org to start your transfer.
Non-IC&RC States
If the state does not offer the PS exam, you'll need to apply as a new CPS in that state.

MHACBO utilizies the IC&RC National Reciprocal Process for CPS (Certified Prevention Specialists), allowing your Prevetion Specialist credential to easily be transfered to and from other IC&RC states.

CRM II Reciprocity

IC&RC Reciprocity
MHACBO uses the IC&RC National Reciprocity Process for Peer Recovery (CRM II).
Moving to Oregon
If your current state offers the IC&RC PR exam, contact your board to start the process.
Leaving Oregon
If your new state offers the PR exam, email van@mhacbo.org to begin your transfer.
Non-IC&RC States
If the new state does not offer the PR exam, you must apply as a new CRM II there.
