Peer Credential
An active MHACBO CRM or CRM II, or a state Adult Addiction PSS/PWS registration.
Forensic Peer Course
Complete an approved Forensic Peer training course.
500 Hours Supervised
500 hours of supervised peer support experience with court-involved clients, demonstrating the SAMHSA GAINS Center Forensic Peer competencies.
Pass Exam
Pass the Forensic Peer endorsement exam (part of the application).

The Forensic Peer endorsement

The Forensic Peer Endorsement recognizes peers who have completed additional training and education to work effectively with court-involved clients. It shows expertise in supporting people involved in the justice system, navigating its unique challenges, and promoting recovery in those settings.

  • You hold an active CRM or CRM II from MHACBO.
  • You'll enter your CRM number to start.

State registration

I'm a Peer Support or Peer Wellness Specialist

  • You're registered with the state as an Adult Addiction PSS or PWS.
  • You'll enter your PSS/PWS registry number to start.
› Apply as a PSS / PWS

Both lead to the same Forensic Peer endorsement. The only difference is which registry number confirms you're eligible.
